Rima Al-awar

Rima Al-awar is an Arab-American artist who was born in Beirut, Lebanon and moved to North Carolina at the age of 14 during the Lebanese civil war.  It was in high school that she discovered her love for oils.  Her earlier works, such as Mediterranean View, Nightscape and In the Promised Land were influenced by her native land.  Her more recent Aden series was inspired by Chinese characters and began with the painting titled Sheh Sheh also posted on the Carolina Art website. She is currently exhibiting in a Midwest gallery where she currently resides.
